Mention is made of the believing women on earlier generations from mother Hauwa to wife of Zachariah 'alayhi wassalam, wives and daughters of the prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam , the sahabiyaat (women companions), the taabi'aat (women successors), muhaddithaat (narrators of the traditions), 'allimaat and 'arifat (scholars and mystics), and pious women of recent generations.
