Sealskniz Waterproof Socks- A Comfortable Alternative to Khuffs are Shariah compliant for making masah (i.e.  instead of washing the feet during wudhu, it is permissible to pass moist hands over such socks, or Masah alal Khuffain).  SealSkinz® socks have a patented fabric structure of three highly engineered layers including a membrane capable of allowing perspiration to escape while not allowing water to penetrate. The Ulema have strictly disallowed masah on regular socks and have stipulated in detail in what specific types of socks masah is permitted.    Sealskinz® and Dexshell® are the only two manufacturer of non-leather socks that we know of that meets the strict criteria of socks over which masah can be performed on.  (see Fatwa of Mufti Desai below).

Depending upon the thickness of the liner socks you plan to wear with your Sealskinz® socks, you may want to select a larger size than is shown on the size chart.
